  New Drug Study:

"A Comparison of the Efficacy and Safety of Topiramate Versus Placebo in the Treatment of Essential Tremor" – A randomized, double blind, placebo-controlled study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of topiramate versus a placebo in the alleviation of symptoms associated with essential tremor. This study offers an open-label extension study.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of an investigational drug, topiramate, for the treatment of essential tremor. Eligible patients are male or female, ages 18 to 80, with a diagnosis of essential tremor. There are other inclusion/exclusion criteria for this study. The duration of the study will be approximately 11 months. Monthly visits are required.
